Changing Mindsets in Music Innovation with Michele Tharp

Dec. 31, 2018

To marketer Michele Tharp, innovation is creating a better way to do something, and working with an inner desire to make a change. She focuses – as we do – on changing mindsets — new ways to work with technology, development, and platforms. She shares with us two current projects connecting both public radio stations and VR to artists and their audiences.

Guest: Michele Tharp, Marketing Consultant

Michele Tharp is a marketing consultant at her own firm, which provides strategic and management leadership for creating and growing brands. Michele recently helped launch, and oversees marketing and engagement for the nonprofit start-up, VuHaus – a collaborative music video platform and network, comprised of over 20 of the country’s leading public radio music stations who share a common mission to support artists and be a source of music discovery for audiences around the world. She is also the music industry advisor to ACIDVR, a VR management platform, aimed to empower musicians to further engage with their fans through the power of VR and 360 video. Michele has held marketing positions with media companies including Capitol-EMI Records, Showtime Networks, Jones Radio Network, Paragon Media Strategies, and has consulted clients including CBS Radio News, TRX Training, TheBluesMobile Radio Show (with Dan Aykroyd) and the Public Radio Association.
